GM to close 4 plants, may scrap the hummer.....
Well DUUUUHHH! With gas prices soaring you really can't expect good sales on the worlds biggest gas guzzler. Only the stupidly rich would bother filling that thing up each week.
The big 3 are all looking to shutting down multiple factories, hence laying off several thousand people, and they're going to a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle.
Kinda like in the 80's when the big pickups turned into something you could barely pack into, muscle cars became ugly and pathetic, and sedans looked like the muscle cars with even crappier engines.

Thanks for making me feel old.
Let's see...the 80's.....We sold our Pinto station wagon for a Volkswagon Golf and we had an Isuzu Trooper 2.
My dad owned a porsche 914 also but it was parked pretty much my whole life. We ran it once in 92 or 93, got pulled over for having no plates, and had to have the cops give us a push start, then he sold it a few months later.

What! Miami vice = superb fashion, great music!
Well, luckily i was just around 10 years old at '80s, so that kinda spared me from some things.
All I remember was the wonder years, MASH, cheers, and night court.
And lots of days outside playing with my GI JOE's.

Now that I'm looking at it, I think I have a tan overcoat just like his. Mine always made me look like a hobo though but I got a really nice black nylon overcoat from a friend.
Gonna have to go through storage and see if I can find it.

Edited by: Micheal Dietrich on 05/06/2008 23:11:58 Oh yeah, I was refering to the 80's due to the price of gas lately as we had that gas shortage in the 80's too causing car makers to build ugly ass cars that sucked.
I'm not like a fan of the 80's or anything.

Then again the hummer is what a bodybuilder used to be in the 80s, in a time perspective, a preconception that the big exterior hides an inner insecurity, however not so well hidden.
I think they're just damn ugly trucks.

Reminds me of the ending of disneys cars.
